Biography
Dr. Wang is an associate professor at the School of Public Policy & Management, and vice director at the Center for China Studies, Tsinghua University. He is devoted to modern China studies, majoring in the management and policies of environment and natural resources. Especially his research interests cover many fields on water management and polices.
He got Ph.D and M.A. in School of Public Policy & Management of Tsinghua University and a B.S. in Department of Hydraulic Engineering from Tsinghua University. His dissertation was a study of Structural Change of China’s Water Property Rights funded by Ministry of Water Resources. He was an Assistant Director of Water Administration Bureau in Yellow River Conservancy Commission for one year; during this period he investigated water management conditions of eight riparian provinces down the Yellow River.
Dr. Wang provides consultation for many international and domestic institutes, such as WWF, CIDA, AusAID, JICA, CCICED, MWR-China, NDRC-China. He has participated in five international cooperation projects related with water and has done study tours in the U.S., Japan, Canada, Germany and Malaysia. As Principle investigator and project manager, he has undertaken many important programs, including projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and National Social Science Foundation of China (SSFC). He has published two books and more than fifty pieces of papers on academic journals. |
