1. MPP-SDG Application for 2018
 
The School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM) of Tsinghua University is partnering with the Geneva School of Social Sciences (G3S) of UniGe to start a highly interdisciplinary 2.5-year dual master’s program for the SDGs from September 2018. This program focuses on defining and developing concrete solutions for the SDGs through hands-on, team-based and project-driven activities, in parallel with courses on the fundamentals of sustainable development. Candidates from a broad range of backgrounds will gain both theoretical understanding and practical field experience that will prepare for employment on sustainable development projects.
 
International applicants could apply the dual-degree program in the online application system of Tsinghua (http://gradadmission.tsinghua.edu.cn/f/login) by end of April 2018.
 
Basic admission requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
- English proficiency test certificate (Non-native speaker: TOEFL 92 or IELTS 7.0);
- Two recommendation letters from scholars who have the title of associate professor or above or are senior professionals in the related field;
- Transcript of academic record, research and awards; 
- Working experience in development fields preferable but not required.
 
Admission schedule:
 
-1st Round: November 1 to December 31, every year.
-2nd Round: January 1 to February 28(/29), every year.  
-Rolling: March 1 to April 30 (based on vacancies), every year.

2. MIDG Admission for 2016
Qualification of Applicants
1. Academic or professional background in the fields of government, NGO, Educational institution, Media, Business etc., and dedicated to work in public sectors.
2. Under the age of 35, and with 3-5 years work experience
3. Bachelor’s degree
4. Good academic background, strong analytic ability, and high English proficiency (for non-native English speakers: TOEFL 85/IELTS 6.5, or equivalent)
*MIDG program is a Chinese government sponsored program. Only applicants from developing countries recommended by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China will be considered for admission.
 
 
Application Materials
1.       Complete Foreigner's Application Form for Admission to Graduate Programs of Tsinghua University online (http://intlstudent.cic.tsinghua.edu.cn/app/. When filling the online application please choose Master of Public Administration in International Development program in the system, and specify the financial sponsor is Chinese Ministry of Commerce. Attach 2-inch recent photo, signed by the applicant. (See Application Procedure Step 2).
2.    Three recent photos of passport size. One photo should be pasted onto the application form.
3.    A formal degree certificate of your Bachelor’s degree (notarized photocopy).
4.    Academic transcript of your Bachelor’s education (original or notarized photocopy).
5.    Resume in English.
6.    Personal statement in English, at least 2-page A4 paper (please indicate the motivation for applying for Tsinghua MIDG program, any advantage and accomplishment for fulfilling the program, study plan and career goal) 
7.    Two letters of recommendation (original in English or in Chinese) from scholars of associate professor or higher, or employers
8.    One photocopy of your passport (personal and ordinary passport).
9.    Photocopies of English language proficiency test results (For non-native English speakers or applicants whose instruction media of tertiary education is not English, evidence of English proficiency should be demonstrated by a passing TOEFL 85 or IELTS 6.5. A GRE score is desirable but not required.)
10. Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
11. Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.
 
The documents provided should be the original documents in Chinese or in English; otherwise notarized translations in Chinese or English are required.
 
None of the above application documents will be returned.
 
Only applicants recommended by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China will be considered for admission.
 
Application Procedure
Step 1:  Online Application
Complete On-line Application on the website of International Students Office, Tsinghua University (http://is.tsinghua.edu.cn). When filling the online application, please choose Master of Public Administration in International Development program in the system, and specify the financial sponsor is Chinese Ministry of Commerce. Print, sign and attach 2-inch photo on the Application Form produced by the system after the application status changes to "verified".
Submit the Form along with other application materials listed above to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in your own country.
 
Step 2:  Recommendation
Acquire recommendation from your current organization to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in your own country and get approved.
Step 3: Scholarship Application
 Complete Chinese Government Scholarship Online Application (http://laihua.csc.edu.cn). Print, sign and attach 2-inch photo on the Application Form produced by the system. Submit the Form along with other application materials listed above to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy in your own country.
Please be noted that the agency number of Tsinghua University is 10003.
