In the lecture, Mr. Mike Harris will recount his fascinating personal experiences that occurred while producing a number of interesting (some historic) documentary feature films. He will describe his Zheng He research with Ming Historians in Beijing. Then he will be sharing why he think Zheng He's historic expeditions are inexorably linked to life around the world today and to the historic One Belt One Road initiatives.
- Linkages between the Old Silk Road, the New Silk Road and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
- United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #7 lists Affordable and Clean Energy as a way, to save money and help the environment.
- Why sustainable energy is so important and why the expeditions of Admiral Zheng He help to point us in the right direction today.
Conclusion: B&R “Sustainable Energy Development” inspired by the voyages of Admiral Zheng He will continue to improve the lives of millions of people all along the Maritime Silk Road, just as the voyages of the Ming Admiral did more than six hundred years ago.
