Tsinghua - Brookings Center “The challenges of sustainable development: the role of China and the World” lecture series

Hosted by the Tsinghua Brookings Center , the director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University , Professor Jeffrey Sachs was invited to speak about the current ecological and economic situation facing and the world. Also attending the event was the Director of Brookings-Tsinghua Center, Professor Xiao Geng, the Assistant Governor of the People’s Bank of China, Professor Yi Gang, Director of the Institute of National Economy and Committee Member of China’s Monetary Policy, Professor Fan Gang and Director of the Center for China Studies, Professor Hu Angang. The event was highly anticipated with many participants and students who were unable to get seats having to stand for up to two hours.
