Chang Jiang Scholar at Tsinghua University and Daewoo Professor at the Kennedy School in Harvard University, Professor Anthony Saich gave a public lecture to over 321 students at SPPM on the subject of ‘Changing Nature of Welfare Provision in China during the Reform Period’. The lecture attracted many students not just from Tsinghua but also over 70 MPP students from Peking University’s School of Government. Presiding over the lecture was Associate Dean Professor Wu Yongping and many students from diverse backgrounds had a chance to engage in heated debates with Professor Saichs. At the conclusion of the lecture, teachers and students from both Tsinghua and Peking University had a chance to take a group photo together.
