  • Dr. Wang had taught at the University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore before joining Tsinghua University in Summer 2008. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Center of International Studies, Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University during 1993-1994. He has served as reviewer for leading international journals in international relations study such as Review of International Studies and International Studies Quarterly. He is also honorary associate professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, University of Hong Kong.


  • His articles have appeared in internationally-referred journals such as Pacific Review, Asian Survey, East Asia: An International Quarterly, Security Dialogue, Pacific Affairs, The Brown Journal of World Affairs, Australian Journal of International Affairs, and Review of International Studies. Among his major publications include “Hegemony and Socialization of Mass Public: The Case of Japan’s Cooperation with the United States on China policy,” Review of International Studies, Vol.29, January 2003; “Cultural Norms and Chinese Foreign Policy,” Asian Thought & Society (USA), Vol. XXVI, No. 77 (May-August, 2001); and Hegemonic Cooperation and Conflict: Postwar Japan’s China Policy and the United States (Westport, Conn.: Praeger, 2000).


    Areas of Research:East Asian international relations, international relations theory, East Asian politics, and Confucian political thought.
