Pu Gong is an Associate Professor at School of Public Policy and Management and serves as Director of the Academic Research Division at the China Institute for Development Planning, Tsinghua University (THU-CIDP). He received his B.A. in Economics from Nankai University and his Ph.D. in Management from Tsinghua University. He was also a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Kennedy School.

His main research areas include development strategy, development evaluation, planning monitoring, public service delivery and management. His recent research focuses on development planning evaluation, demographic transition, human development, composite development indices, cultural strategy, and public service logic. He has published articles in journals such as Public Management Review, Scientific Data, and One Earth, and has authored two books. He has also led the drafting of numerous policy and research reports.
