Junming Zhu is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University, an Associate Director at Tsinghua’s Institute for Sustainable Development Goals, and a co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Industrial Ecology.

Junming’s research focuses on public policy, environmental governance, and sustainability. He has led major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, the National Key R&D Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research appears on leading journals such as Public Administration Review, Governance, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and Nature Communications. He is listed as an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher in Public Administration, and his research receives honors including the First and Second Prizes of the Beijing Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences, and the Best Policy Research Article Award from the Chinese Policy Scholars Group.

Junming serves as Board Members of the International Society for Industrial Ecology and the Chinese Public Administration Society, Vice Chair of the Industrial Ecology Committee of Ecological Society of China, and was the President of Chinese Society for Industrial Ecology. Prior to joining the Tsinghua faculty, he worked at the School of Environment at Yale University as a Postdoctoral Associate. He received his B.S. and M.S. in environmental science and engineering at Tsinghua University, and his Ph.D. in Policy Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park.
