Joint MPA in Big Data for Public and Global Governance (MPA-BDG)
Program Overview
Pioneered through the Global Innovation Exchange (GIX) between Tsinghua University and the University of Washington (UW), the School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM) of Tsinghua and the Evans School of Public Policy (Evans) of UW offer a dual master’s degree program from September 2018, aiming at training leaders, analysts, and decision consultants for big data use, data analytic, policy research, data driven decision support, and governance innovation with a global perspective. Tsinghua and UW’s MPA programs are both reputable programs with NASPAA accreditation. Graduates from the Tsinghua-UW Program could pursue careers in public service, policy analysis, government and business relations, and non-profit organizations in home country or in international organizations.
Study Plan
The MPA-BDG dual-degree program lasts 2 year (4 semesters). Students of this dual master's program spend year 1 in the University of Washington and year 2 in Tsinghua University.
Dual Degrees
Upon successful completion of the dual degree requirements, international students of this dual master will receive one master degree from each party: the degree “Master of Public Administration” of Tsinghua University and the degree “Master of Public Administration” of the University of Washington.
