On October 9th, 32 MID students led by Assistant Dean Meng Bo and Professor Yu An visited the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone (also known as the TEDA) to participate in a visit and cooperative exchange.
At 10:30 in the morning, the students arrived at the TEDA’s Management Committee building. Under the guidance of Chief Du Peng (Culture, Education and Public Health Bureau of TEDA, Education Development Section) we visited the TEDA Development Achievement Exhibition hall, and witnessed the development of TEDA’s 3D video technology. Soon after, a group of TEDA’s Investment Promotion staff introduce the students to the company’s development history, status and objectives. Yang Shu, Deputy Director of TEDA’s Investment Promotion department, then had a friendly exchange with the students and participated in a brief Q&A.
“What I have seen today I consider the most interesting thing I have seen so far in China,” MID 2010’s American student Daiwei La proclaimed to a MID project officer.
The Public Policy and Management School’s Assistant Dean Meng Bo also said, “Social practices have been very useful in the MID students’ understanding of China’s international development. Through this practice, our students will carry a very intuitive and emotional understanding of the country’s development, which will be incredibly beneficial to their future academic studies”.
