The “Mobile Interactive Platform between Government and Citizens”, an application project on e-government written by the E-government Laboratory of the School of Public Policy and Management and implemented by Beijing Chaoyang Informatization Work Office, was nominated for the 2012 FutureGov Awards.

Besides this project, the “ICU Mobile Executive System” of the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia, “Project Ora Tiak” by the Ministry for Primary Industries of New Zealand, Thailand’s “Traffic Police” project and the “University Wide Mobile Web Project” by City University of Hong Kong were also nominated in the Wireless Government Sector. New Zealand’s project ultimately emerged victorious.

The “Mobile Interactive Platform between Government and Citizens” is one of multiple measures taken by Chaoyang District to listen to citizens’ voices and improve service quality. The platform aims to provide a governmental administration consulting service and open channels for public opinions. Based on the “Internet Interactive Platform between Government and Citizens”, the system has been upgraded in ubiquity and convenience, with the technical support of Apple IOS and Android 2.3 and mobile devices including smartphones and tablets. The project has been well received by the community and has played an important role in advancing socialized management.
