On May 23rd, Professor Michael A. McRobbie, President of Indiana University, visited Tsinghua, along with other faculty and staff from the university. Dr. YUAN Si, Vice President of Tsinghua, received the delegation and exchanged on future cooperation between the two universities. Later on the day, the two Presidents renewed the Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation first signed on July 31, 2009.

Ms. MENG Bo, Associated Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management, Prof. WNAG Ming, Director of the NGO Research Center and Ming De Philanthropy Research Center, attended the meeting. Ms. MENG signed a school-level Sub-Agreement on behalf of SPPM with representative from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. According to the Sub-Agreement, the two schools will work together on various fronts including research, faculty exchange, student exchange and fundraising. Prof. WANG will visit Indiana University during his sabbatical leave in the Academic Year of 2014-2015.

Founded in 1820, Indiana University was one of the oldest comprehensive research universities in the United States. Tsinghua and Indiana University signed a Cooperation MOU in the area of Information and Communication Technology in 2006, and then strengthened cooperation by signing a university-level MOU, collaborating in information technology and public policy.
The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy is the first school that specializes in research and education for the non-profit sector. The Lilly family is from the State of Indiana, active in charity and philanthropy, and has contributed $100 million to the Lilly Family School and $800 million to Indiana University. During the past 27 years, the Lilly Family School has accumulated diversified assets and resources for philanthropic study, considered as the most well-known education institution for the philanthropic area.
