From March 2 to 12, SPPM held ten-week orientation for IMPA 2015 fresh faces. A variety of events were held by the program office to enable students merge into student life in Tsinghua and learn Chinese culture.

With the help of SPPM staff, students first completed course selection for spring semester and then got familiar with the process of borrowing books in school library. Meanwhile, students joined the icebreaking event, and celebrated their first Chinese festival, Lantern Festival together with other international students on March 5. After lively interaction and communication, students experienced traditional custom of Lantern Festival, guessing lantern riddles and eating sweet soup balls.
On March 7, a visit to China’s National Museum helped IMPA students grasp the history and culture of China’s five thousand year civilization. The hall of “State Gifts: Historical Testament to Friendly Exchanges” aroused their great interest, as they found gifts presented by the home countries, which signified good diplomatic relations between China and the rest of the world.
By then, ten-day orientation activities for IMPA 2015 class were completed, making the start of their new life in Tsinghua.
