     June 1, an 11 member delegation from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at Sussex University paid a visit to SPPM. Associate Dean Wu Yongping hosted the group and introduced the delegation to the school. Following his introduction, there was a series of presentations by students from IDS and SPPM. The topic of discussion touched upon 3 fields, the role of China and India in development, Sino-African relations and China’s financial system. There was much debate about the role of China and other developing countries particularly in regards to south-south cooperation. Students engaged in lively discussion about how China was being perceived by the outside world and what China can do to improve its international strategy.  After the presentations, staff and students from both schools joined with a visiting delegation from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University to discuss their experiences during a shared lunch at the school canteen.
