Dean of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School visits SPPM

On November 17th, The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University’s Dean, Professor James B. Steinberg, visited our School of Public Policy to conduct in-depth exchanges with our teachers and professors.

The Public Policy school’s Dean, Professor Xue Lan, extended a warm welcome to the visiting Syracuse professor and chaired the roundtable meeting. SPPM’s Professor Chu Shulong, Professor Wang Feng, and other teachers attended the meeting as well. The meeting discussed the relationship between the two schools as well as common points of concern, such as climate change, urban planning, research, teacher and student exchanges, and case development cooperation.

 

Professor Steinberg graduated from Harvard University in 1973 and received his JD from Yale in 1978; the professor is a former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, and is well-known as an expert in international relations. Professor Steinberg became the ninth Dean of Maxwell School on July 1st, 2011, and prior to that held positions in the schools of sociology, international relations, and law.
