On December 21, the 10th Anniversary Ceremony of SPPM’s Center for Crisis Management Research and the 4th China Crisis Management 50 Forum were successfully held in Beijing. The guests attending the events included Prof. Shan Chunchang, Counselor of State Council and Leader of State council’s Emergency Expert Team, Prof. Xie Weihe, Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Prof. Xue Lan, Dean of SPPM.

The First Teenager sub-Forum was held as a part of “China Crisis Management 50 Forum”, with the theme – “Crisis Management: Evolution, Future and Challenge”. The forum aimed to provide a platform for young experts in crisis management for exchanging their ideas. Meanwhile, Prof. Shan Chunguo and Prof. Peng Zongchao gave their review on the young experts’ reports.

Afterwards, the 4th “China Crisis Management 50 Forum” began with the host, In the first half part of the forum, several scholars, including Prof. Shan Chunchang, Prof. Gong Weibin, Mr. Chan Qingxin and Mr. Chen Rui, discussed on the topics of the practice of Emergency Response Law and the relationship between contingency plan and administrative procedure protocol. The second part of the forum was host by Prof. Peng Zongchao. Many participants shared their opinions on how to improve the construction of crisis management institutions.

“China Crisis Management 50 Forum” is consisting of 50 scholars who expertise in crisis management, playing as an ideas exchange platform for academic discussion and policy research, aiming at promoting multi-disciplinary integration in crisis management research, as well as focus on solving practical problems of China’s crisis management with policy makers. The forum was co-founded by Prof. Shan Chunchang, Prof. Xue lan and it is undertaken by both Center for Crisis Management Research and Beijing Research Center of Urban System Engineering. The forum has been held fourth times annually since it was launched in2011.
