On October 24th, SPPM’s 15th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony and the 10th Public Management Forum of Tsinghua University with the theme on “The New Normal and National Modernization of Governance” were held in Beijing. Deng Wei, Deputy Party Secretary of Tsinghua University, Ma Juan, Deputy President of Sun Yat-sen University made the opening ceremony speeches. Chen Qingtai, the first Dean of SPPM, Xu Xianping, the former Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission（NDRC）, Professor Hu Angang of SPPM, Dean of the Center for China Studies, delivered keynote speeches respectively.
Dean of SPPM, Professor Xue Lan made summary remarks and gave a speech on SPPM’s development history and future outlook over the past 15 years. Professor Xue Lan pointed out that SPPM is dedicated to building the international class public management school and making contributions to “the Modernization of National Governance”.
Xu Xianping, the former Deputy Director of NDRC, Gao Peiyong, Dean of National Academy of Economic Strategy, CASS, Professor Hou Yilin of Syracuse University, professors of SPPM including Wang Youqiang, Yu Qiao, Qi Ye, Su Jun, Wang Ming, Deng Guosheng and another 10 guests commented on the topics of " Relationship Between Central and Local Governments," " Innovation Governance and Development," and "Social Organization and Social Governance".
Professor Meng Qingguo, Party Secretary of SPPM, hosted the opening ceremony. Nearly 200 representatives from universities at home and abroad, departments of Tsinghua University, and the teachers, students and alumni of SPPM attended the opening ceremony.
On October 23 th to 25 th, SPPM held a series of activities to commemorate school’s 15th anniversary, including “The New Period Public Management Discipline Construction Expert Seminars”, ”Public Management Director Forum”, “The First (2015) Chinese Public Management Academic Annual Conference and the Young Scholars Forum”, “10th Anniversary Conference of CIDEG”, and so on.
