International Students from 38 Countries Gathered Together at SPPM to Enjoy the Lantern Festival

On Feb 22 2016, 75 IMPA, MIDG and MID students from 38 countries gather at SPPM to celebrate the traditional Lantern Festival. This is the first Lantern Festival for them in Tsinghua University. The “Yuan Xiao” (also known as “sweet dumpling”), and lanterns decorated on the ceiling was a whole new experience to the students and allowed them to gain a better understanding of the Chinese culture.

The two professors also joined and introduced the history and traditions of Lantern Festival.

Having Fun Together!

Amidst laughters, the new students and old friends cheerfully chatted and shared among each other. It is the first gathering after the winter holiday and they are all ready for the Spring Semester!
