On the morning of September 2nd, SPPM welcomed the new incoming class of MID 2009 students. The MID Class of 2009, comprising over 30 students comes from over ten countries with very diverse backgrounds ranging from political science, urban planning, mathematics, civil engineering, biology, finance, classical literature, etc.

The students attended both the university and SPPM's opening ceremonies for graduate students on September 4 and following the two opening ceremonies, Dean of SPPM, Professor Xue Lan, along with other SPPM professors, personally welcomed the new MID students.  During their exchange with the professors, students expressed their motivation and appreciation of the opportunity to study at Tsinghua University and their eagerness to learn more about China.
