The 3rd “China-Brazil Innovation Conference” was successfully held in SPPM from June 20th to 22nd. This conference was co-hosted by SPPM and the Institute for Brazil-China Studies (IBRACH) and was organized by CISTP.
Prof. XUE Lan, Dean of SPPM, Prof. HU Angang, Director of Center for China Studies, Prof. YU Qiao, Prof. CUI Zhiyuan and Prof. YU Yongda, as well as ZHAO Zhongxiu, vice-president of University of International Business and Economics, Dr. LI Yan, associate professor of Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED), Dr. Gopal Balachandran, consultant of BRICS Development Bank delivered speeches during this conference. Scholars from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and senior executives from Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) were present at the conference.

Focused on the theme of “Directions of the Chinese Economy Today”, representatives from both sides had an in-depth discussion on the macro-economic situation of China, the governance model of Chinese economy, BRICS cooperation mechanism, etc. Chinese representatives emphatically analyzed the characteristics and development trend of China’s economy under the new normal, the general strategy of the economic and social development in China during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the construction of Belt Road Initiative free trade area and innovation-driven development, etc.
This conference attracted great attention of the Brazilian Embassy in China. Minister Mr. Marcelo Della Nina, First Secretary Mr. Romero Maia, and First Secretary Mr. Augusto César Batista de Castro visited SPPM and attended the parallel session.
After the closing ceremony, Brazilian delegations, accompanied by professors of SPPM, visited the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development (CASTED) and Beijing Millet Technology Co., Ltd.
